While the original series finished its run in 2003, a prequel series debuted shortly after titled "Clifford's Puppy Days" and would run for two seasons and a recent live-action film. This comically grim premise sets up the events of "Catscratch," and what ensues is a series packed with cartoonish, absurdist humor and slapstick comedy. We see each other frequently and always have some new story (and a Spongebob reference or two). Taking a break from the far-fetched and fantastical plotlines most children's cartoon series featured, "The Weekenders" relied on telling down-to-earth stories centered around its four tween leads and the time they spend together.
